09 Dec The UK Soft Power Reception

On the 18th November 2025, BFPG was delighted to host the UK Soft Power Reception, in partnership with the Wellcome Trust. The evening brought together leaders from across the full suite of the UK’s soft power assets – from sports and the arts to science and law – alongside leaders from government and from London’s diplomatic corps. In a turbulent global environment it was delightful to have a room full of constructive conversations about the UK’s place in the world, and how the UK can and must leverage the benefits of its world-leading expertise, institutions and businesses.

We were delighted to have opening speeches from Permanent Under Secretary to the FCDO, Sir Oliver Robbins, and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Dame Emily Thornberry MP.
