As part of the work that BFPG is doing with the support of the Wellcome Trust on the role of science in UK soft power, on Monday 9th June we were privileged to host The Hon. Julia Gillard AC, former Prime Minister of Australia and Chair of the Wellcome Trust.

Julia shared insights from her leadership in science, global health and development policy, including as Chair of the Wellcome Trust, and the session explored the role UK science can play in achieving the UK’s soft power and international ambitions.

We thank all who participated for their insights. We look forward to hosting further discussions on these themes as part of this series of work.
