Ukraine launches first cluster bomb attack on Russian troops- The Telegraph

Sophia Gaston, Director of the British Foreign Policy Group, contributed to this article about the Ukraine conflict. She said:

"Ultimately, the UK's decision to provide cluster munitions will need to be assessed alongside the broader strategic question: if we are sending them to support Ukraine's fight against a specific adversary using them already, does that purpose justify their use, even if the general principle of banning them remains valid? This will be a real dilemma for Number 10. While the UK must follow America's lead on this, it has shown that it is also willing to push the boundaries of support, as its early provision of long-range missiles demonstrated. I would not be surprised if this eventually happens — but the UK government will want to do everything it can to minimise civilian harm in the process."
