Viktor Orban may have won over right-wing British politicians, but we’re not Hungary 2.0 just yet - the Independent
Sophia Gaston was quoted in this Politico article about the influence of Viktor Orbán on Conservative British politicians.
As Sophia Gaston, the director of the British Foreign Policy Group, put it: "People are going because they see it as an opportunity, they see the Conservative movement as a global movement, and MCC is plugging into that."
Gaston described this as a natural extension of a growing trend among some British conservatives. "There has been a general shift over the past five or six years towards people within the Conservative Party who are less instinctively Euro-Atlantic [in their] orientation. That shift has generated a much more eclectic set of reference points, and Hungary has been among them."
