
Ed Arnold
Ed Arnold has 18 years’ experience in defence across the private sector, academia and as a British Army Officer. He specialises in UK defence policy, National Security Strategies and European security.
He is currently a Senior Advisor at BFPG and an Advisory Director at the D group. Prior to rejoining The D Group, he led European security at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) where his research was the genesis of the UK-German Trinity House Agreement and Kensington Treaty. Ed has provided evidence to multiple Parliamentary committees and is regularly in the UK andinternational media commenting on defence.
In the private sector he was previously Director of Strategy and Operations at The D Group where his clients included multiple government departments and multi-national and SME private companies. Prior to consultancy, Ed was an infantry Officer within the British Army. His military career was primarily spent overseas, including deployments to Afghanistan and East Africa and a posting at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe during the 2014 Ukraine crisis.
Ed holds a MA War Studies from King’s College London and a BA (Hons) in International Politics from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
